To improve search and look up performance, Inform ERP creates Indexes of critical data. For example, when you add a new Customer, Inform ERP collects and stores all of the information you provided. However, all of that information is not required to find that customer at a later date. Rather, just the name, address, phone number, and maybe some keywords should be sufficient to retrieve that customer. Therefore, Inform ERP takes this subset of information and builds an Index from it. The index contains only the key information, so it can return search results very quickly.

If you are seeing data problems in Inform, such as slow searches or lost invoices, DDI Customer Care may recommend that you reindex. Reindexing deletes the old index and rebuilds it from scratch. Although it may take some time to complete depending on the amount of data in your system, it could fix a number of problems. However, only run reindexing when instructed to do so by your DDI Support Specialist. They can answer any questions you may have.
