Maintain order types to help categorize your sales. You can create order types and get a report of all existing types. By default, eCommerce orders have an Order Type of Web.
Once you set up your order types, you can associate them with a sales order: see Create a sales order. You can also set the default order type by customer: see Configure default order preferences. If Inform is configured for cutoff times, they are also configured by order type.
Create an order type
- Go to File > Company > Order Type.
- Click New.
- In the Order Type box, type a reference code, and then press the Tab key.
- Type the Description of the order type, such as Outside Sales, Web, or QuickOrder. This name will be used throughout Inform ERP.
- Choose whether you want to Use Manual S/O #Use Manual Sort Order Number. Enables you to assign an order number to all orders of this type. If you want the order number to be assigned automatically, leave this option cleared., and choose your Sort OptionsDetermines how to sort printed sales orders. From the Sales Order Sort list, select Bin Location or Product Number. If you select None, then the default sort from Customer or Company Master. If you want to sort the onscreen sales order using the same sort as the printed ticket as selected here, select the Save Sort check box.. These options will override those set on the Warehouse or Customer level. See Configure default order preferences and Set up warehouses.
- Leave N/$ blank. This option is not used.
- Click Save.
Edit an order type
- Go to File > Company > Order Type.
- In the Order Type box, click and choose the type you want to edit.
- Click Edit.
- Edit details, and then click Save.
Delete an order type
- Edit an order type as described above.
- Click Delete.
- On the confirmation message that appears, click OK.
View a list of all available order types
- Go to File > Company > Order Type.
- Click Report.
- On the Field Selection pop-up that appears, you can choose which fields appear. Drag the fields into the Print Order area, and then click OK.
- On the Print Document pop-up, click View.
