Contract Pricing is the primary pricing information for your customer, allowing you to set and update net and/or formula pricing, while also handling rebate costs. Using price contracts, you can set prices and costs for a group of customers. This pricing is then assigned to a job, specific vendors, one or more or all customers.
Contract pricing
- Represents the primary pricing information used for a customer
- Allows you to set and update net pricing, while also dictating product cost
- Is required for rebates
You can create price contracts on the Price Contract page, which you can get to from either the Sales>Pricing menu, or directly from a job by clicking the Pricing button.
When you configure a price contract, you must first create the contract, assign customers and/or vendors and then save. Once saved, you can configure pricing. The contract must exist before pricing can be assigned. You can also edit pricing factors like profit margins and rebate costs to keep your prices current. If rebates will be applied to your customers, you will need to use price contracts to enter the rebate information.
If you want to learn more about price contracts see:
- Create a price contract to group customer pricing
- Configure product contract pricing : Set the prices that customers associated with the contract will pay for specific products. This procedure also shows you how to override contract pricing for a specific customer as an exception, while retaining the contract pricing for all others.
- Globally adjust all prices on a contract: Increase or decrease the cost of all products on a contract by a percent. This option is useful for contracted increases or decreases that are applied across the board. For example, if you apply an annual increase of 1%.
- Globally modify effective and expiration dates of a price contract: Update the effective or expiration dates for all product pricing in a contract.
- View an audit log of price contract changes: See who made what changes to the contract when.
- Apply loaded rebate costs: Learn what loaded rebate costs are and how you can apply them to offset rebate costs. Your salespeople can view these as they enter sales orders.
- Generate a contract price report: Run and view a report on customers under a contract, product prices, or effective or expired contracts.
- What are price matrices? You can also set pricing using a price matrix. Learn about prices matrices and how you can create and apply pricing formulas for your products.
Note: Price contracts may be overridden by other assigned costs or on a sales order by sales order basis. Any time you enter a sales order, the pricing or cost contract applied appears.
