View detailed Year-To-Date and Last-Year sales information for selected customers, products, salesmen, etc. from Sales Analysis Inquiry.
The Sales Analysis Inquiry screen lets you analyze sales by Year-To-Date, Last-Year, Variance, and Variance % totals broken down by month, for Sales, Units, Gross Profit Dollar Amount, and Gross Profit Percentage.
Note that sales amounts include only merchandise totals from invoiced orders. Freight amounts, miscellaneous charges, and tax amounts will not be included in this total.
Important Sales information is based on the Sales Journal Period of the invoice. For this reason, the numbers you see here may not match reports that run based on the Invoice Date of the orders, such as the Who Bought What Report.
- Go to Sales > Sales Analysis Inquiry.
- Choose the criteria by which you want to analyze your sales data. For example, if you want to analyze all carpet products purchased by Landslide Management over the last year, then in the Customer box, type or choose Landslide Management, and in the Product Line box, type or choose Carpet.
Available criteria
- Customer: The reference code and name of the customer whose sales will be included in the inquiry.
- Ship To: The reference code and name of the Ship To location that will be included in the inquiry. Only sales sent to this Ship To location will be included in the inquiry. To select a Ship To location, you must first select a Customer.
- Category: The Category that will be included in the inquiry. Only customers assigned to the selected Category will be included.
- Salesman: The reference code and name of the salesman whose sales will be included in the inquiry. Only sales made by this salesman will be included.
- Territory: The Territory that will be included in the inquiry. All sales made to customers assigned to the selected Territory will be included.
- Cust Type: The Customer Type, as specified on the General tab of the Customer Master.
- Branch: The Branch whose sales will be included in the inquiry. Only sales data from this branch will be included. If this field is left blank, the inquiry will display total sales data for all company branches.
- Product: The Product that will be included in the inquiry. Only sales of this product will be included.
- Product Line: The reference code and name of the product line that will be included in the inquiry.
- Major Group: The Major Group whose products will be included in the inquiry.
- Vendor: The Vendor whose products will be included in the inquiry. Only units purchased from this vendor will be included.
- Click OK.
Results appear in the tabs along the bottom of the screen, with Sales listed by default. Click the tabs along the left to switch among views.
- Sales: Monthly sales dollars.
- Units: The number of units sold each month.
- GP$: The gross profit dollars earned.
- GP%: The percent gross profit earned.
